Joyce Fuerza
Speaker | Producer| TV-Host | Filmmaker

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business, Haitian-Canadian Joyce Fuerza is the President & Founder of Joyce Fuerza Productions. She is also well known for wearing many hats as a Filmmaker, a Keynote Speaker, a Television Host, a Producer, and she speaks five languages.

Currently, Joyce is the Director of Programming for six Black Film Festivals across Canada in Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver. She has been able to develop great knowledge about the realities and challenges related to professionals in the independent cinema world over the course of her work in the film industry as a Film Festival Programmer, for more than 10 years now. Joyce has served on several juries,  been a guest speaker at several panels, and a delegate at national &  international film festivals such as TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - TIFF, AMERICAN BLACK FILM FESTIVAL - ABFF , HOTS DOCS, LOS ANGELES PAN AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL, among others. Joyce continues to work with and foster great relationships with filmmakers, producers and film distributors worldwide. 

To build on her assets and skills, Joyce has gotten enrolled in a series of workshops and training in film Production, Screenwriting, and Filmmaking at Canadian institutions such as L’INIS, Main Film, and D.A.M. In 2020, Joyce embarked on directing her first short film titled ‘KAMILA’, which she co-wrote, and produced under her production company. She is honored to have been selected and accepted into the NATIONAL FILM BOARD OF CANADA’s (NFB) Filmmaker Assistance Program (FAP) to finalize the post production phase of her film. Currently, her film is doing its national and international film festival run, and has already received an HONOURABLE MENTION RECOGNITION.

As a Speaker, Joyce recently had the honor to be a Keynote Speaker at McGill University's PowerSkills Career Summit (by McGill Career Advising and Transition Services, School of Continuing Studies at McGill University) where she gave her insights on How to Create Your Own Opportunities, sharing her professional experiences, personal journey, and perspectives. Her speaking engagements include topics such as Empowerment, Career Development, Networking for Success,  Professional & Personal Growth, Communicating Effectively, Diversity and Inclusion, The Power of Social Media,  Creating our own Opportunities, Speaking on Camera, Steps to Creating our own Content,  The Key to Having a Strong Virtual Presence, Producing your first Film or Talk-show.   

Joyce's goal is to further expand her engagements as a Keynote Speaker to continue empowering and inspiring others by her story, journey, career path and knowledge. She also wants to continue maximizing her presence in front of the camera, hosting and producing Talk-shows, TV Programs, contributing to existing programs & shows that educate, entertain,  and empower. Joyce also partners with other industry professionals, while she continues to grow her production company with valuable content that not only entertains but that also tells real life stories to ignite critical thinking and bring awareness about social injustices. With her ability to speak 5 languages, Joyce is constantly expanding her work internationally to reach a bigger market.
